Sports nets

These days, nets are used for sports in a variety of ways, and not just to separate teams on a tennis court, or to hang from the rim of a basketball hoop. Sports of all types use nets, and for more than just court use.

Tennis nets are a popular net, and one that most people recognize instantly. It sits low to the ground and provides not only a catcher for tennis balls, but a separator for opposing teams. Without a net, tennis as we know it wouldn't be the same. Another popular sports net would be for volleyball; the whole point of the game is to knock the ball over the net. A volleyball net sits off the ground and is supported for two poles, one on each side of the net. These typs of nets are usually made out of weather-resistant polyethylene, and come in a range of sizes and colors.

Golf is a sport that you don't generally associate a net with, but driving ranges use them on a daily basis. The golf net sits high, almost like a baseball fence, but is made of netting material to catch errant golf balls before they are driven astray. In addition to golf being a sport not usually referred to as having a net, sports nets can be used in football, too. Many teams, both professional and amateur, use a net to practice throwing and kicking without having to chase the ball. Netting can also be installed inside a football stadium to protect lighting and equipment from being damaged by high-flying footballs.

There are many uses for nets in sports these days, and come in handy more often than not. In a wide range of colors and sizes, there is sure to be a net to fit any sports need.
